![]() It's no secret that we are who we are because of our wealth. In some ways, the loyalty the Noblemen have from their soldiers, and the influence we have over fighters makes us more powerful than Senators, Generals, and diplomats. In a world where most are barely scraping by, and each side can barely equip or pay their armies, it has fallen on us to organize and lead the small pockets of fighters across the nation. Before we knew it our cities were war zones, and we found ourselves in the midst of a new, different kind of Civil War. or at least against us.Īnd then it just kind of happened, before anyone really knew what was happening. Their barrage of propaganda and a slow build up of organized militias began to mount a serious threat to the Federals - and it became apparent how many people were on their side. but that skirmish is what led the enemy to form the U.C. When the Federals traced the attempt back to Rockwell, their private militia was no match even for the depleted Federal military. Rockwell was the first company to really try and sieze power with the attempted assassination of the president. Morgan, Forge Inc., and in the beginning, Rockwell & Company. ![]() Realizing it was in their best interest to align against the one thing in their way - the federal government - the U.C. didn't exist at all - it was just a group of individual corporations vying for economic power. As soon as the Great Plague took its toll, they were waiting in the shadows to try and sieze power. It all started with the United Corporations, or U.C. men on both sides struggle to survive every minute of every day. We travel with care, as always, and I wish I could help the sick I see. Deserted cities and towns have an eerie stillness to them, with pockets of people still reeling from the effects of the disease. I continue to see the fallout of the Great Plague everywhere I go, even now, 6 year later. We must crush the enemy, for the sake of our families - how can they not see what they are doing to this country!? Civil unrest is everywhere, and sometimes entire states are filled with violent skirmishes. June is a Patriotic town, I know, but I still can't help but worry. The frightening part of this war is that it has no central front - the enemy is everywhere! I wonder about my dearest Madeline and son, and how they're doing back at St. I just wished there was some way to convince them how misguided they are. Feeding off the public's fear and uncertainty, they convinced half the country that the government was the enemy. ![]() With the government and military in shambles, it didn't take much for the richest corporations to try to force their influence. The greediest of men used that misfortune to try to seize power. No one expected a Plague like the one that hit, devastating at least 70% of the country. On quiet nights like these, I sometimes recall how we ended up here. We have a daunting task ahead in order to try to take back this state, one city at a time - but we will be victorious. I must go now to join with the local Militia. it is far too expensive for ordinary soldiers to use! I don't understand the technology, but they say it takes nearly a mountain of coal to produce the energy needed just for one long range jump, as well as some other incredibly rare material - this is why only a Nobleman can use the Machine. It never gets any easier traveling via the Tesla Machine - though it really is a wonder how we can travel so many miles instantly! I have just arrived at the barracks, my head numb and my ears still ringing from the shock of the travel. ![]()
